Primacort 100mg Injection 1's

INTRODUCTION

PRIMACORT 100MG contains Hydrocortisone sodium succinate which belongs to the group of medicine called corticosteroids. It is indicated in the treatment of swollen, painful joints and tendons in conditions such as, tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow. Hydrocortisone Injection can also be used to treat conditions such as severe asthma, allergic reactions, severe shock due to injury or infection or failure of the adrenal glands. It can also be used to treat shock following surgery, injuries, hypersensitivity (anaphylactic) reactions or other stressful conditions.

Corticosteroids are the substance that are naturally produced in your body and helps to maintain your health and well-being. Supplementing your body with extra corticosteroids in the form of injection/infusion can help to treat various illnesses and inflammatory conditions. PRIMACORT 100MG binds to the corticosteroid receptors of adrenal glands and mediates various physiological functions. It also blocks the production of various inflammatory mediators responsible for causing inflammation and allergies.

Do not reduce the dose or stop taking this medicine abruptly without informing your doctor. Your doctor will slowly reduce the dose to avoid withdrawal symptoms such as itching, fever, muscle/joint pain, runny nose, sticky eyes, sweating and weight loss. While taking this medicine, inform your doctor immediately if you experience any signs of mental problems such as depression or suicidal thoughts. Your doctor might reduce your dose or suggest an alternative therapy. Stay away from people having chickenpox, shingles or measles, because infections are easier to get and harder to spot while taking PRIMACORT 100MG.

The most common side effects of this medicine are injection site itching, pain and burning sensation. However, contact your doctor if you experience any other unusual side effects after taking this medicine. Do not take this medicine if you have any bacterial, viral or fungal infections. Before taking this medicine inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, heart or stomach problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should inform their doctor before taking PRIMACORT 100MG as a precaution.
